Topic: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

Han Solo Betting Agency have released their opening set of odds for 2012 with the race for The Vader Trophy beginning in earnest at tournaments in Brisbane, Chennai and Doha respectively.

Defending champion Tono has been installed as the slight favourite in 2012 just ahead of the impressive FTT performer Wolmas, "Tono lead from start to finish in the shortened version of the competition last season so he deserves to be the favourite in 2012 in our eyes" said head "Bookie" Chew Bucka.
Mr Bucka did state that "Wolmas' impressive run in last years competition gained our respect and this has been reflected in him being installed as a close 2nd favourite".

Although nothing has been heard since November "2011" from the Oklahoma resident Don, he is on the third line of betting and will be a definite chance, he started slowly last season but once he got some momentum going he proved that he will be in contention in 2012.
The ultra consistent Aiur, who is at very tempting odds, ranks as 4th favourite on the betting line, Aiur did hold down second spot last year for long periods of time so he can certainly not be discounted from the equation, a good start should see him in the mix again in 2012.

The Serbian native Dragan slips into contention at good odds in 2012, he joined the inaugural Vader League late in the piece last year so it was hard to gauge exactly what odds he would be given by the HSBA, Mr Bucka a.k.a Chewie stated that "Dragan has caused our biggest headache in setting the odds for this season, because he only participated briefly in 2011 it made our job more difficult, he looks like being very good value indeed on the 5th line of betting".

The young Australian Crosscourt is also at mouth-watering odds, affectionately known as CC, he made great strides last year in all competitions culminating in him winning the inaugural R2D2 Crown, Chewie stated that "Dragan and CrossCourt are, we believe, the two competitors in Vader that could hurt us the most, we have risked putting them on the 5th and 6th line of betting respectively and a big early betting plunge, if successful, will really hurt the bank account".

Coming in on the 7th line of betting is the popular but inconsistent Arvis, he is always willing to go outside the square for some of his picks and when they come off they pay big dividends for him, unfortunately when they backfire they also hurt his cause, early season rumour's are swirling that Arvis might also be suffering from computer problems, if he happens to miss pick deadlines early in the competition then he will be severely handicapped right from the start.

Backhandpass or BHP to his fellow competitiors comes in as the outsider of the field on the 8th line of betting according to the HSBA, the bookmakers took into account last years results but did acknowledge that they are expecting a much improved performance from the double-hander in 2012, Chewie stated that "Backhandpass had his computer issues last season and because he missed so many pick deadlines he never really showed us "Bookie's" what he is capable of, we only had last season to go by so he was rightly installed, we think, as the rank outsider of the field".
"Although we have him installed at the longest odds, I do have a sneaky feeling that Backhandpass will be passing the dreaded "Wooden Spoon" to a new recipient at the end of The Vader Trophy season in 2012" said Chew Bucka!

It all makes for a very exciting and tense competition as the Vader League 2012 season gets underway, there will be many twists and turns throughout the long season I'm sure, who will be crowned the inaugural "LORD' of The Vader League in November....don't change the channel and stay tuned to GSFT and find out! big_smile

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

$100.00 on BHP! I believe that the HSBA has fairly assessed the 2012 preseason odds, and I will relish the role as the dark horse.

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

LOL....That will be a rather healthy return of $2000 for your $100 bet BHP! smile.....lets see if you can break the bank and win it all in season 2012 my man, good luck! big_smile

I'm sure you will enjoy being the dark horse mate and with your computer probs now all sorted you will be hoping that your "horse' will not be so dark in a few months time huh wink lol

Imagine if we all had a spare $100 to make a plunge, who would we take....I think I'd put $90 on Tono and then bet the spare $10 on either Aiur, Dragan or CrossCourt for a chance to get my money back lol
Hmmm, tough out of those three....I'd probably go with Dragan I think, that way I get $360 return if I (Tono) win it all and my original $100 investment back if Dragan gets his hands on the Trophy. wink smile

How would everybody else invest their $100 then???

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

I didn't start well becouse Mayer retired, but I would still put my 100$ on that big 10. big_smile

And I think that you made one slite mistake Tono. You said:If Dragan gets his hands on the Trophy. But you where thinking WHEN Dragan gets his hands on the Trophy. lol

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

LOL....I thought you wouldn't be able to resist a sly $100 on yourself Dragan wink.....the sweet return of $1000 is too much to resisit huh? lol

And there was no mistake on my part....I definitely meant IF you get your hands on the Trophy not when my friend wink

Your early loss of Mayer is no biggie really mate, small prizemoney on offer this week apart from Doha so that loss will be quickly forgotten I'm sure!

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

Bugger that you missed Brisbane Thomas hmm....At least as you say "two outa three ain't bad", hopefully missing the Brizzy tournament won't penalise you too much in the long race to become "LORD" of the Vader League in 2012 wink

Special Good Luck to TW huh....you are obviously meaning both of us since our initials are the same wink lol

I haven't seen any $$$ won yet by CrossCourt or Don either....maybe they have missed the start of the Vader Trophy altogether???....Anybody heard from either of them??

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

-sits way in a dark corner, smoking a pipe*, whispering under his breath-

Yessss... yessss... they'll never see me coming....

-Arvis

*Arvis does not smoke nor does he promote the use of tobacco in any form

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

LOL....Good to have you back in the room Thomas my man smile

It is really interesting to see the different strategic picks from all the players on FTT in week 1....some have left out ALL the Top 10 guys in their 3 tourney picks and a few of them have picked one or two big guns early on....the only player I chose in the Top 10 was Tsonga in week 1....was going to take Tipsy too but decided to leave him for another day, I did consider taking Roger instead of Jo-Wilfred in Doha bcoz of the bigger winners prizemoney on offer but decided to keep my powder dry with Fed till later also. smile

I noticed that BHP is keen on a good start in Vader....he has picked Rafa, Fed, Murray and Tsonga in week 1....new strategy this year eh BHP?? wink

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

If Tipsy wins the whole tourney in Chennai then I might regret not picking him otherwise I'm happy if he goes out in the semis or finishes runner up.

So where would you invest your $100 then Thomas???

Breaking News....Han Solo Betting Agency have announced that all bets on The Vader Trophy competition have been suspended until news of the whereabouts of Don and Crosscourt surface....new odds will be released in due course wink

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

Good news about Cross Court, but why is Don not joining us, he was so involved last year!

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

That is good news about CrossCourt big_smile good to have him back on board....maybe he was busy in the first week of the year or something, on holiday maybe??
I'm sure he will fill us in when he starts posting again soon smile

I'm disappointed to hear that Don has decided against joining us for a full year in the Vader competition though Thomas hmm....do you know if it is just Vader he is not competing in or has he decided to withdraw from the other comps this year too???
At the end of the day it's Don's decision to compete or not to compete so...."It is what it is"!

NEWSFLASH!!
Intrepid Reporter "Darth News" has recently learnt from a reliable source that last season's consistent performer "Don" from Oklahoma USA will not be competing in The Vader Trophy in 2012!

On hearing the news, Han Solo Betting Agency have just announced that their revised odds for The Vader Trophy "2012" will be released at the conclusion of the Australian Open in Melbourne in late January!
"All bets placed on "Don" to win this season will be refunded by HSBA as soon as possible" said head bookie Mr Chew Bucka!! smile

Re: HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

Sigh!!....Oh well....thought I better ask that's all because he was the creator of the Yoda Cup and I was expecting him to still compete in that, if not that's fine, if he ever decides to delete the league he set up we can always set it up again fairly quickly huh! smile
