Topic: Which player will have a breakthrough year in 2012??

Ok tennis fans...in your opinion who will be the player or players to have a big breakthrough year next season in 2012!!
I will say that Grigor Dimitrov will up his game next year and enjoy his best season ever...and have a breakthrough in one of the Slams by going fairly deep...what do ya'll reckon??

Well, Bernard Tomic showed a lot of potential at Wimbledon but that was only one Slam. I'm guessing my fellow Aussie will go on to have an amazing year next year.

Now, here is a strange thought: Mardy Fish.
Yes, he'll be 30 next year, but he's shown his full potential during this year's US Open follow-up tourneys and I reckon he'll have a cracker of a year next year. Beginning with the Aussie Season: Sydney/Brisbane International, Kooyong Classic and The Open.

Tomic could well be the one to watch Crosscourt smile ...Fish...if he makes top 4 or wins a GS then yeah maybe...can't see it though..this year may well be his most memorable of his career though!

I would love for Fish to win a Grand Slam.  What a story that would be!  big_smile

Tomic has performed quite well in the Australian and Wimbledon this year. He could have potentially gone another round in Melbourne had he not drawn Nadal in the third round, where he still put up a competitive match even though it was straight sets. I think he may have a more well-rounded season next year.
