I will be a bit surprised to see Schiavone reach the quarters. She has been AT BEST in ok form even with the New Haven result.

She did a good job getting off the court fast this time around, something she did not do so well at Wimbledon. If she can stay out of 3 set matches then she has a chance. Too many of those is too mentally taxing for even a competitor like her.

A few of our players are starting to go head to head from tomorrow onwards...now the Yoda Cup competition gets interesting!!

Petrova v Stosur (Tono v Aiur/Wolmas/Arvis/CrossCourt/BHP)
Gulbis v Muller (Guga v Arvis)

C'mon Nadia...beat Aussie Sam smile I see she has a great head to head record against Stosur so..... my fingers are crossed! big_smile

Makes sense though bcoz so many have Stosur on their team..and we need to get rid of another one of Aiur's women's team too wink lol his women's team is looking rather threatening at this stage!!

My only hope is for Safarova to make the final.  Or she may need to win.  I'm not sure.  I think maybe she could lose to Wozniacki and that might be OK.   ;-D

Plenty of our players are involved and go head to head in matches today...
Berdych v Tipsarevic
Tsonga v Verdasco
Fish v Anderson
Jankovic v Pavlychenkova
and of course the BIG one...Serena v Azarenka

From those matches I will go for Tipsarevic, Tsonga, Fish, Jankovic and Serena! smile

Currently the Yoda Cup has two names engraved on it...
Wimbledon 2011 - TONO
US Open 2011 - AIUR

Will one of these two guys be the first to become 2 time winners of The Yoda Cup at the conclusion of the Australian Open or will somebody new get their name etched on the Jedi Master's silverware???
The answer to that question will all be revealed over two weeks of hard fought Fantasy Tennis from 16-30th January 2012!!
