Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

LOL...yes I see he has had a name change smile

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

I like the name change, something original instead of a real life player name/nickname.

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

I'm glad that you like it Wolmas.I like it too. wink Did you fix that thing in the setings about automaticly match predictions?

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

Thanks Don smile was a nice comeback after I started so poorly big_smile
If Nole wins the final then I will win the overall mens section in the "Obi Wan Cannoli" too which would be nice smile
I just have to improve my womens picks for next time...in fact improving the womens picks in The Yoda Cup would be of great benefit next year also wink
The women's matches seem to hold the key in the overall GSFT scheme of things huh!!

Arvis...Arvis...Arvis...after such a great start you end up with the "Wooden Spoon" in the inaugural Obi Wan Cannoli...hard luck mate...open wide!!! wink lol

Poor Arvis!

It was a glorious start, and it lasted so long -- but like the summer it's gone!   ;-D

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

LOL...Thought with Aiur winning The Yoda Cup that my picture of Pete holding the US Open Trophy doesn't quite seem appropriate.....now it's Rafa meaning business!! big_smile

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

Hey, Arvis, look on the bright side!  Few of us will ever do so well, even if only for awhile!!!

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

I was just so close to getting Federer....  I weep with sadness at how close I was to triumph.  Plus, seeing another (possibly final) Federer-Nadal final would have been epic.  Even though Fed's inevitable defeat at Nadal's hands in the one grand slam Nadal hasn't beaten him in would have been crushing to the point of making me hate tennis for at least a week.

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

Real Hobson's choice, eh, Arv?  Dashed hopes or broken dreams.  Lovely!

Clearly, tennis as a metaphor for life tell us that everybody loses but the King -- yet some of the losers do very well indeed!  Most, however, grind away for peanuts.  The masses, aspiring to be king, can't even manage that.  We call these unwashed hordes "challengers" or the like when we want to act nice (& blow a little smoke up their butts).

Yes, tennis is a tribute to monarchy if ever there was one.  Yet I love it.  Does that mean I have some sort of social disease???

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

Hey Don,I know that US Open is far away, but why don't you delete this Obi group and make a private one?
It would be more pleasant if only the Yoda Crew where in it,without all those insults and other crap with some bears and other wild animals.

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

I agree.  I actually already asked them to remove 3 people and have made it a private group.  When that didn't work out, I asked to delete the entire group.  Got nowhere with that, either.  So far, at least.  Maybe you guys could help me with that.

Re: OBI WAN CANNOLI 2011

I don't know how,but I will help if I can.
