Topic: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

There is a US Open bracket challenge.  It is just a bracket challenge, not nearly as good a competition as here at GSFT, but fun nonetheless and with a worthwhile prize.

I have created a league for us there.  You are cordially invited to join in the competition.

Click on the link below, join the league, and help answer the burning question: "Who will win the
Obi Wan Cannoli???"

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

I was happy to participate in the US open bracket, but it's desined for the US cityzens only.To bad,the prizes are great.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

OK.  I read the rules.  You can win a prize only if you live in one of the original 48 states or the District of Columbia, which is a shame.

However, you CAN compete in the league.  Tono is from New Zealand and he signed up with no problem.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

Wasn't hoping for a prize anyway. I'm hoping the Aussie Open gets a bracket challenge - I'd love to see the look on your faces if it's an Aussie-only prize. wink

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

LOL....Aussie's or Kiwi's would be better CrossCourt wink

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

It's just that they're too cheap to pay for a longer plane flight!

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

Is the prize cheap or the organizers of the site?I would say the organizers!

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

More likely the sponsors than the organizers.  That's who's too cheap.  The sponsors.  No doubt about it.

Boycott 'em!

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

I think that you are right Don.Charles told me by email that the first place prize(memorablia)is worth 200$ and that I would have to pay the shipment costs of 150$.So becouse of that they will contact the Ace authentic(sponsor)to pick a prize that can be sent to me,and that  he will send me a email as soon as they get the reply from A.A.I made a proposal for tham to send me something that's worth 50$ and pay the shipment with the rest of the 200$.But they didn't replay to my two last emails.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

I think you'll wind up doing better than that, Guga, but it may take a little work on Charles' part.  He's a prince.  The companies who sponsor these prizes often are just looking for free publicity for nothing or as close to it as possible.

I wish the Slams themselves would take notice of GSFT and support the site.  They should.  There can be no doubt that fantasy football has been the best deal ever for the NFL.  It wouldn't cost the Slams anything, really, to get one or more of their corporate sponsors to provide a prize trip for two to the event from anywhere in the world for winning.  A few thousand for plane tickets, hotels, etc.  Big deal.  They already pay out much, much more for advertising.  That would be a drop in the bucket.  The Slams would be smart to negotiate that deal.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

I compleatly agree with you about the slams and sponsors. That would drasticly incres the number of people participating in the GSFT.But I'm not so sure that it will hapen. And about my prize thing,I will ask Charles here on the forum in a couple of days.I just want to hear what did the A.A. deside.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

C'mon, Arvis, for goodness sake!  Give us an avatar in the freakin' Cannoli, will ya, mate???  You look like the identical twin of the wander up: it's just wrong.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

So far, only 6 of the GSFT crew have joined in our US Open bracket challenge league, the Obi Wan Cannoli.  We have also been joined by 5 "wander ups" and undoubtedly more will join.

If you think you're good enough to help us prove the superiority of GSFT regulars over the rest of the world in knowledge of the game and its players, then please follow the link found in the first post on this thread and JOIN US in the pursuit of the Obi Wan Cannoli!  See you there.

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

True Don... BHP and Aiur where are you guys?????
Join us in the search for "Sweet Victory" big_smile

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

I understand that in Spain they're going to call the OWC winner "El Cannolista Grande" but it's more of a rumor, really.  Not such a reliable source, now that I think about it.   ;-D

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

OK.  Still no Aiur and no BHP in the Cannoli, which is getting interesting already.

Current count has 25 players (by contrast, the second largest league has 5), but GSFT Forum has only 6 of those.  Here is a chance to see how we shape up in a bracket challenge against all comers.  I think we'll do very well.

If anyone else would like to join us and uphold the honor of the GSFT Forum, please follow the link at the bottom of the first post of this thread, and please identify yourself when you sign up!  Thanks!

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

If just one of us wins the Cannoli, I'll consider it a victory for the GSFT community. smile

Re: Who will win the Obi Wan Cannoli???

Amen, brother!

I think the name of the league was too clever.  I'm sorry.  Everybody's joining our league, none of the others!
They've been signing up fast, too!
