Re: I've got that feeling...
Li's great, but I think Wozniacki can take care of her; my money's on the Dane. I bet you guys it'll be Wozniacki & Clijsters in the final, because Kim is pretty much unbeatable right now.

No doubt Woz is very good, but I think Li is the betting favorite for a reason. Because she hits the ball fairly flat and is way more aggressive than Woz, the match will be on Li's racquet. All she has to do to win is stay aggressive and not make too many mistakes. Personally, I think she's up to the challenge.
Also, if she can get past Zvonareva, I look for Kvitova to give Clijsters fits in the semis. Probably Kim comes through, but it isn't a foregone conclusion that she will.
Well, since Zvonareva proved herself up to the task of defeating Kvitova, do you think she's capable of giving Clijsters enough trouble in the Semis to make the finals?
I think she has the chops to give her trouble but I certainly hope not! I would love to see Kim take another Grand Slam outside of the US Open.
Zvonareva won the Kvitova match with a brilliant game plan perfectly executed. Kvitova starts slow and plays herself into a match. Vera came out blasting the ball -- and when she didn't blast it, nearly every ball had different speed and spin. There was no way Zvonareva was letting Kvitova get any rhythm. It worked.
For a player who used to melt down emotionally, Vera certainly has become thoughtful and calculating in her approach to dismantling difficult and dangerous opponents. Based on her thinking on court, she should have no trouble staying at the top of the game for awhile. Similarly, completing her second Masters degree (I think this one is in International Diplomacy) will be a breeze for her, I'm sure. She'll probably wind up being a force in Russia far beyond what most tennis stars ever manage to accomplish off the court.
If the Clijsters/Zvonareva match were to come down to what happens between the left ear and the right ear, I would definitely like Zvonareva to win.
Well how do we feel about Clijsters v. Li Na?
I agree with Euan...it'd be terrific if Kim could add another non-Flushing Meadows title to her collection!
