I am ridiculously excited too. I'm predicting Nadal to win, but who knows, last year's was a bit of a shocker.
How are your predictions tennisguy?
Im also leaning towards Nadal. He's looking great going into roland garros with titles in rome, monte carlo, and maybe even in madrid. I also think fernando verdasco is goin to go far this year. He made to the final of monte carlo and won barcelona, so he should maybe make it to the semi's. I don't know how federer is gonna do because he hasn't been looking too good since the australian open. Is this a sign that federer may be no more?
Nadal's body will not take the abuse of a grand slam. I just don't think that he can keep up his type of play over so many matches. He's gone by the semi's. Fed on the other hand will probably get to the finals again - this guy delivers in grand slams like no one else in history, and he'll do it again this year.

Hmm, I don't think. Everybody thought Federer was no more after the 2009 Australian Open, and looked what happened the rest of the year, hardly shoddy.
That is true, but we'll just have to see if history will repeat itself. I do agree and disagree with Magoo because Nadal does have problems with his health physicaly but he is in top form going into roland garros and i think he can still deliver the magic he brought to the game 2 years ago.
Wow, I can't believe the French is already here. Amazing. I would really like to see Nadal have a comback this year and take the title. How great would a Nadal vs Fed final be? But there are so many young, hungry players that can play "in the zone" for a match or two. If Nadal is actually healthy, then no one will beat him.
Yay, French Open soon! It's come so quickly. So glad Nadal is back in form, I have my fingers crossed he can win, come on Rafa!!!!
What about Djokovic? Is he playing well this year? I see he's #3 in the world again, but does he have it in him to win another slam? He sometimes seems to let his head get in the way.
Yes he does tend to, unfortunately. He lets his emotions dictate his attitude, then his play becomes worse, the emotions drop again, and then everything goes downhill from there.
I really want him to do well, he is a fantastic player and such a funny, entertaining guy. Let's hope his sinuses clear up before Rolland Garros!
Wow, Roger has one of the toughest sections I've ever seen. Gulbis (who has been on a tear recently and he beat Rog on clay earlier this season), Montanes (beat Rog on clay earlier this season), Soderling, Wawrinka, Monfils and Cilic. Nadal, on the hand, has a very easy section and should coast through. For the first time in awhile, I think Fed's streak of consecutive semis could end just by looking at that draw.
Hi Aiur - how have you been? I totally agree, Roger is in for a very tough tournament ahead. But, he's done amazing at the French the last few years, and is no doubt the 2nd best clay player in the world. So I think he had a good shot to get to the finals.
ya, but federer hasn't won a title since the australian open. he hasnt been playing like himself and that my get in the way of him getting to the semi's. Verdasco on the other hand is having a great clay court season. He got to the finals of monte carlo, and also won the barcelona open, so i think he can go far if he puts his mind to it

I've been pretty good. Working a lot so it's tough to watch all the matches like I used to, but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess. How about yourself?
I'm doing great, thanks. The same for me - wish I had more time to watch, but the French is my favorite tournament so I will just have to make the time.
Yea I love the clay. It's so much different from the other surfaces and is really fun to see because the slowness of the court forces players to come up with big shots.

I'd be surprised to see Nadal go out at least before the Semi-Finals. He seems to have renewed confidence in his game, and three titles on the go isn't any mean feat. He also seems to be taking his fitness much more seriously too, skipping I think it was Monte Carlo, in order to ensure he's in top physical condition. And as always, It would be a massive shock to see Roger outsted anywhere before the Semi finals. Despite losing to Gulbis in a tournament earlier, he takes Grand Slams much more seriously. I don't think we'll be seeing a repeat.
like they say, on any given day, anybody can beat anybody. so we'll have to wait and see. this tournament tests player's patience and will to win. so anything can happen
I would honestly be shocked if Nadal did not win. He looks like the guy who could win every match he plays again, and he has an easy draw pretty much up to the semis. I think only a couple of guys can really test Rafa on clay, and they need to be playing 100% all match to test him. Those guys would be Soderling and Tsonga because they have the ability to hit through Nadal, and Djokovic just because of his all around game.
Nadal's draw looks goooood. He's gonna get to the finals and probably win, but there is drama this year because it's possible to have another shocker. Would like to see another Soderling vs Nadal match - that would be very fun!!
ya i bet nadal wants revenge after the tragic event that happened last year

I highly doubt he has last year on his mind. He knows if he was healthy he probably would have won again.
that's true, so now that his tendonitis is out of the picture, he lookis like he's in top form to win this year
