I think it is pretty weird. Exactly what is her point?
It makes for pretty nice photos though!

This should be interesting. Bode Miller, the world-class skiier, will try his hand at this open national playoff tournament:

Bode is a bit of a maverick in the skiing world, I can only imagine he might bring the same enthusiasm, competitiveness, and unpredictable behavior to tennis. It could lead to some interesting times ahead and I think it "bodes" well for the sport in general!

Hi Prith9,

What exactly is happening to prevent you from making predictions? If you post additional detail, the forum members might be able to help.

thanks!

Did anyone catch the Federer/Andreev match yesterday? I was stuck on a plane (if you have not flown Virgin America I highly recommend) and saw the whole match - it was amazing tennis. Andreev really had Federer sweating it in the first set with his aggressive forehand and topspin. It looked like Andreev had the third set in the bag too before Federer woke up and got on his game. The most amazing part was how hard Andreev was working to run around his backhand in order to play to his stronger forehand. It might have worked for him, but it's hard to keep up that level of pace for over 2.5 hours. He probably ran a mile more than Federer over the course of the match.

Should be fixed now, according to this post:

What, you don't like young McEnroe as your avatar?  :-)

Go to Account Options, top right of the screen. Scroll down a bit and click browse to add your own image.

no way, Federer is too strong right now, both mentally and physically. I think he's going to make quick work of it.

she sounds like a total bully, and she should not be allowed to get away with that kind of behavior. I can understand that she was in the moment, but when you rise to that level of excellence in a sport, you typically also develop more control over your emotions.

I have encountered this issue before and have an easy workaround. Use Ctrl-F5 to to a hard refresh of the page. This usually clears the login issue and returns me to whichever page I was trying to reach.

I've encountered the issue on IE7 on a work computer using "rigorous" security settings. It only seems to happen when I am clicking a link from the update email I receive from GSFT.

Hope this workaround helps...

True, he can't act, but have you seen Diesel on the court? He's amazing at net!

agreed. Williams has been strong this year in Wimbledon, I can't see Safina creating much of a threat.

Agreed. She is not done with us yet; nor we with her.

What are everyone's thoughts on Soderling vs. Gonzalez? I feel like Soderling has been on a roll; he might continue...

Like a swimmer that has flipper surgically installed in place of their feet!?!   Maybe after the breast reduction she can have a racket surgically implanted in place of her arm and hand.

I was not even aware of this; shows how in touch I have been lately. So yes, what happened?

Love the French. Clay makes things interesting! Australian is not for me, it's early in the season, and does not have the character of the French or Wimbledon.

Exactly what I expected: a great match, and a long match. Disappointed Federer couldn't pull it off, but how could one be too disappointed with such great tennis.

those crazy Serbs and Bosnians, at it again.

I don't know, Federer was looking pretty strong against Wawrinka with a 6-1, 6-3 win in just 57 minutes.

Hi,

I am very psyched this site has been created - I have been looking but have not found a really good tennis community to discuss all things tennis, and maybe even find folks to hit around with. The fantasy tennis game aspect just sweetens the deal!

I live in the SF Bay Area, and have been playing tennis all my life (I'm 30-something), sometimes more regularly than others. Still looking for that elusive regular weekly game.

Looking forward to exploring the site and getting to know other tennis fans!

The official draw for the Australian open was posted this morning:
http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/int … casts.html

I have playing with the same Dunlop racket since 1992. It's crazy, I know, but I have not been convinced that the newer racquets since then have offered significant enough advances in technology to justify a purchase. Furthermore, I'm not sure I prefer a lighter racquet and it seems like they are always moving in the direction of lighter racquets.

What newer racquet models are folks using and would you recommend them? I like a medium sized frame, but really not sure which models are leading the field right now, or whether it is worth the extra investment to buy a top of the line model vs. one more in the middle of the pack in terms of pricing. Seems like the playing field has leveled out a lot in recent years and most racquets offer similar features/benefits.  Thoughts?
