I think Nadal will take it all - his loss to Fish was a fluke, and he's going to bounce back from that and kick ass.

Wow, I can't believe after 12 straight wins against Soderling that Federer lost in 4 sets in the QF. Not only does this end his winning streak against Soderling, but his streak of 23 consecutive semifinal appearances is also over. Soderling played amazing tennis - hitting and serving as hard as is possible on clay - while Fed seemed a bit tired, and could not come up with an answer for the powerful shots coming his way. It was a well deserved win by Soderling, and another exciting upset by him as well at the French.

I totally agree, it's a complete mess. Often they will not show the first half of a great match so they don't have to push back a fishing show or a curling match. It's terrible.

I',m not sure I can back this up with anything, but I think that Sharapova will get to the finals this year. She is making a great comeback after her injury, and she is a good dark horse pick.

Nadal's body will not take the abuse of a grand slam. I just don't think that he can keep up his type of play over so many matches. He's gone by the semi's. Fed on the other hand will probably get to the finals again - this guy delivers in grand slams like no one else in history, and he'll do it again this year.

Wow, amazing to see Agassi take such a low blow at a charity event. Pete took the high road on that exchange.

Serena definitely earned this slam victory. She played very consistent tennis and played really well. The final was fun - so glad it was not a blow out.

What an amazing victory for Federer! He looked great today and made it look almost easy. The final was fun to watch, and I am glad that Fed won number 16!

And congrats scales23 on your win - well done!

Hey tennisguy, how about this amazing win for Verdasco over Djokovic in 52 minutes:

He's playing very good tennis right now.

ok, I think guys (and many women!) will really appreciate this video. I don't totally agree with the order, but I do agree that there are many attractive female players on the tour. Personally I think Ana Kournikova should have been higher on the list.

Sophie - loved your blog post. What did you think about the rest of the tournament? I am shocked that Davydenko won over del Potro.

It would take the USTA way too long to get a roof up. It's a good idea and would allow people to enjoy tennis every day, but it will not happen for a very very long time.

Yeah, she deserved it. It was totally uncalled for behavior. So many kids watch these matches and look up to these players, so they need to act respectful while on the court. Chadshack is right - the call was stupid. But Serena lost her cool and deserved to lose.

The thing at the French Open with Federer was crazy! (you accidentally said it was Wimbledon). That guy was standing in front of Federer for 30 seconds before any of the dazed security people did anything. He could have had a weapon or he could have been a crazy violennt person. They pretend to have security, but the security is a joke. Monica Seles was stabbed by a crazy Graff fan, and if security does not improve then this type of thing will happen again.

But maybe there is a way to do this so that you don't have to select all 254 matches. Maybe instead you just pick the upsets and it is assumed that you are selecting the top seed unless you select otherwise.

Given their recent play, I think both Federer and Roddick are musts on any team. Also Del Potro is looking great.

It was a great match!! Roddick played great tennis and deserved to win. I'm not sure who to root for in the final, but I have a feeling that Federer will win in straight sets.

I'm not sure it will be so easy. I wonder if Serena knows Venus' game so well that she might make it a tough match. Or maybe Venus will feel bad beating her sister to a pulp. Either way it might be closer than we all think.

What an amazing match today against Murray. I was as shocked as everyone else that he managed to play such amazing tennis and pull out a tough win. It was great fun to watch. I have always been a bit down on Roddick because he seems to have so much talent but has not delivered. But today was all Roddick!

Yeah, players now are so much better and stronger and have much improved equipment. This makes repeated serving and volleying a very bad idea - it would almost always end in defeat. Watching the matches from the 70's is almost painfully slow for today's fans. Today's top high school players could probably beat Borg from the 70's.

I really hope that she gets to the semi-finals and grunts and squeals her way through a match on center court. I wonder how the fans will react. That will be very entertaining.

Venus did OK at the French, but she has won the last 2 Wimbledon's and 5 Wimbledon titles overall. Her game is so suited for grass, and I can't think of anyone else who would be considered as strong a contender this year. Any ideas?

It does not look good for Nadal. He needs to be at 100% to make it to the finals at Wimbledon, so if he is at 80% or even 90% he will not get past the quarterfinals. Last year was so exciting, so I hope he heals very soon.

Hey Aiur, you were right. That was a great match. I was surprised that Gonzalez did not pull out a win, but Soderling earned it.

So Berdych, Tursunov and Acasuso are all out already. Wow, not my best team this tournament.
