Topic: So choose three
Folks, please read what's below and respond by posting what you really think. I want to know.
Of course, the draw hasn't come out, so this is "in a vacuum" rather than in context. So, in that vacuum, who are the three you like? BE A SPORT & POST YOUR EARLY THOUGHTS!
I was just spinning down through the top 16 seeds as of this moment -- thinking about the other 3 to take besides the obvious -- seeing who I could eliminate. Davydenko's just back and to say grass is his worst surface would be like saying Rafa Nadal can play pretty good clay court tennis. David Ferrer won't contend for the title, though he may well make R16, depending on the draw. Youzhny, Ljubicic (big serve notwithstanding) and Ferrero, not so much. Melzer maybe.
So choose three: Djokovic, Murray, Soderling, Roddick, Verdasco, Tsonga, Cilic and Berdych. AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!
That slate's so strong it almost makes you question including Rafa. Just kidding. The reason I ask is I'm not quite sure myself who to pick besides Roddick and Soderling.
Well, but then there's Tsonga. He could win it all.
And Cilic's serve works so much better on grass. And Verdasco has always played well at Wimbledon.
But right now Berdych is striking the ball better than anyone. If his match in Paris with Soderling had been on grass, Tomas would have won. So not Soderling at all after all. Or is that wrong?
And, yeah, Murray's been playing like a duffer and there's all that pressure in the U.K. that would kill freakin' Superman, but, gee, his game translates well to grass, especially his touch, and he moves especially well on the surface, and God knows he'd like to make everybody forget Henman.
Oh, my goodness! I think I left out the #3 player in the world, who has proven his mastery of grass. My bad.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
