Topic: full on tournament

Does the site run a full pick tournament?  I like the idea of picking from round 1 to the decider.

Re: full on tournament

Hi acenoface,

We currently do not have that feature, but it's an interesting idea. My main concern would be the number of matches that have to be predicted, especially if you decide to select for men's and women's tournaments. I think it's 127 matches for each draw (64 in 1st round, 32 in 2nd round, etc.), so 254 matches for both men's and women's draws. Compare that with 63 selections for the NCAA tournament. Do you think people would want to do that?

If anyone else has an opinion, please share it here as well. If it's a feature that people would like then I would consider adding it.

Thanks,
Charles

Re: full on tournament

It's an interesting idea, but I would not want to select 254 match winners. Most people would just select the top ranked player to win since it's very hard to predict upsets in tennis and very hard to predict who will be left in the semifinals.

Re: full on tournament

But maybe there is a way to do this so that you don't have to select all 254 matches. Maybe instead you just pick the upsets and it is assumed that you are selecting the top seed unless you select otherwise.

Re: full on tournament

That's true, a different approach to the selection process could make it quick and simple to make your choices. I wonder if it would be more fun that the current approach, which I like. It has a nice balance between making predictions before the tournament starts and after it starts.
