Topic: First Few Days

So the first three days are over, what does everybody think? Did anything particularly surprise/disappoint/delight anyone so far?

I for one am surprised at just how pink Nadal's shirt was yesterday, disappointed that the British women's trio were knocked out so early on, and delighted that it rained in France whilst being sunny in England today! A little mean I know, but when you live under a rain cloud you get a bit like this...

I think my highlight are the outfits; I forgot how, erm...eye catching some of them can be!

Re: First Few Days

More than a few days have gone by, and this is becoming one of the most interesting French Opens in years. Could anyone have imagined that Nadal would have lost to someone who he beat easily a few weeks ago? Someone who he had a 5 day, 5 set match with at Wimbledon a few years ago. What a story.

Although Nadal beat Soderling love and 1 a couple weeks ago, the match was actually fairly close for the first set. If I remember correctly, the first set lasted about an hour and Soderling didn't win a game. Soderling had his shot working at little bits and pieces of that match, hence the unusually long set a love. I think Soderling was just in a zone for the entire Nadal match, and his shot was working in longer periods of time than in Rome (I think it was Rome where Nadal beat him). Combine that with Rafa playing average, and you have the upset of the decade.
