Yes, and Sharapova was 2 games away from losing her 2nd round match! But I guess the "magic" died at that moment and Maria rattled off 11 games in a row to win. SO MANY weird matches in this first week!

Funny, Andujar was serving for the 3rd set against Nadal at 5-1 40-0 and managed to lose the set! A master class in choking! Still, impressive Nadal saved something like 8 or 9 set points to win in straights. A hilarious stat.

No way, guys, Sam has been DOMINANT in her first two matches. I thought she would be a disappointment this year too, but she's playing perfect tennis right now, peaking at the right time. Goerges is definitely coming into her own, but I don't think she has the needed experience to stop the Stosur Express this year. Perhaps in the near future.

But we'll see! The way the women's draw looks, it really is ANYONE'S for the taking. Maybe Zheng Jie can upset everyone and win the whole thing. GO ZHENG! :D

Id have to agree with Adrian there Arvis, I would pick Ljubicic to topple Querrey, both have good serves so it may well come down to who serves best, I'll go with Ljubicic :)
However I agree with Arvis about Stosur beating Goerges, I think she will have too much game for Goerges, plus I'm still kicking myself for not putting Goerges on my team :( but you are right about the women's draw Adrian, I found it very difficult on who to pick on my team, too many possibilities and always upsets so for Wimbledon I might buy a dart board and try selecting my women's team that way....haha!

Arvis, that's a big bet to make, and I would take it on with you any day. Querrey is a poor clay court player; this is the first time he's ever made it past the 1st round at RG. And Ljubicic is a veteran with lots of big-match experience. As for Goerges v. Stosur......yeah, Stosur is a great player and is formidable on clay. But she's been very inconsistent (like always) and I don't like her chances of going far this year. Goerges, on the other hand, is young, hungry, and talented. I think she can pull an upset over Stosur. At any rate, women's tennis is so unpredictable that the draw will be full of surprises anyway. Let's have fun with it! :D

*pats Wolmas* There there, friend... Hardly anyone picked Montanes, I'm sure... :(

@Adrian: I have NO IDEA why I picked Ivanovic and not Goerges. Looking at my draw, I figured Ivanovic had many winnable matches. Larsson, then Oprandi, then Kanepi, and then I even thought she had a chance to upset Azarenka. Goerges, however, I have going out to Stosur one round earlier.

I really don't know what I was thinking.

As for Ljubicic, by all accounts he ABSOLUTELY should beat Querrey in straight sets. Because of that, I can guarantee that Querrey will beat him. That's just the kind of guy Ljubicic is.
