There are over 20 bracket events that they cover, prizes are offered for every single one. I've got Arvis, Don and Tony on board, BHP was interested but I haven't heard anything about it from him since he mentioned the link not working for him. I haven't sent an e-mail to the rest yet, but if you guys are reading and interested in joining then send me an e-mail and I'll invite you to the group.

REPEAT! PRIZES FOR EVERY TOURNAMENT INCLUDING SMALL TOURNAMENT BRACKETS SUCH AS ROTTERDAM AND BASEL

The points system is 2 for every 1st round correct pick, add two points awarded for every subsequent round (4 in the 2nd, 6 in the 3rd, 8 in the 4th), and goes up to 14 for picking the winner. I'm not sure how this works for the 5-6 round tournaments, we'll see soon enough with Rotterdam.

HSBA Release Odds For Australian Open Yoda Cup & 2012 Yoda Guru Race!

The Han Solo Betting Agency have today released their opening betting Odd's for both the 2012 Australian Open "Yoda Cup" competition and the Grand Slam season competition race to become the inaugural "Yoda Cup Guru" in 2012!

Head Bookie Mr Chew Bucka stated that "The opening Grand Slam tournament of the year in Melbourne, Australia always brings with it lots of excitement and expectation!"
"All Yoda Cup competitor's start fresh and on an even playing field and they will all be keen I'm sure to perform well and get off to a good start in 2012, especially this year though, since all points won at every Grand Slam event will accumulate and eventually decide who will be awarded the inaugural title of the prestigious Yoda Cup Guru!" said Bucka. :)

Mr Bucka, affectionately known as Chewie, also stated that "us bookies always find it difficult to set the opening odds for the first Grand Slam event of the new season, it's because we don't have any current form to go by so a big part of our criteria is based on historical performance in previous competitions."
"And of course this year we also have the 4 Grand Slam Yoda Cup Guru race to add to the puzzle so it causes a few more headaches than normal for us, nothing that can't be fixed by a Pivo or two though." said Chewie. ;)

Chewie, the hairy top dog from the HSBA also stated that " We believe this year's Australian Open has the ability to become a wide open race and cost us quite a bit of money!"
"Of course as a betting agency we are hoping that our predictions are fairly accurate and that we don't suffer too much monetary damage from large investments being placed on a dark horse or two, I'm not overly confident that will not eventuate though".
"And of course any so-called outsiders who perform well in Melbourne will then have made a great start in the Yoda Guru race so it's a double edged sword for us which the HSBA are obviously a little nervous about" said Chewie. :/

The HSBA have installed joint favourites for the Australian Open Yoda Cup 2012 competition with last years two Yoda Cup Champions Aiur from Philadelphia and the well performed “kiwi” from New Zealand ,Tono, being the bookies popular pick to etch their name on the Cup for a second time.

The Oklahoma resident Don slots in on the second line of betting, although serious questions still remain unanswered as to whether or not he will even compete.
On the third line of betting we have another duo with the 27 year old Serbian Dragan and young Australian CrossCourt unable to be separated on odds for this tournament by the bookmakers.

Backhandpass, the 48 year old Wisconsin resident and early season fronrunner in the Vader League follows next on the fourth line of betting with bookies deciding that his current picking form is obviously too good to ignore.
The youngster of the group and the newcomer from Texas, The Lost Scot, is on the fifth line of betting and his best result in the history of the GSFT competiton has seen his odds kept safe by the bookies first up.

The popular Yoda Crew member Arvis is next on the sixth line of betting, bookies remain wary of the young 23 year old from the fictional town of Narshe but he is still at longer odds.
GSFT administrator Charles comes in on the seventh line of betting and could be one for longer odds in Melbourne as he has a wealth of experience in playing the game.
Last season's well performed Vader Trophy competitor Wolmas is next sitting eighth on the betting line, he has yet to convince the bookmakers of his form in this format of Fantasy Tennis so he remains an outside chance in their opinion.

Adrian, the very quiet member of the Yoda Crew, is considered unlikely to make a charge for the title in Melbourne and will start ninth on the betting line, he will start the competition with as much chance as anyone else, although the bookies don't think so.
And on the tenth and final betting line we have the GSFT blogger extraordinaire Sophie, she is making her debut in the Yoda Cup competition and has been installed as the rank outsider for the opening event of the season, it's up to her to now prove the bookmakers wrong.

The odds for the season long Yoda Cup Guru race in 2012 are very similar to the opening odds for the Australian Open in Melbourne with last season's accumlated points being used as a guide by bookmakers.
Tono has been installed the early favourite to win the Yoda Cup Guru title followed by Don and then Aiur, Dragan and Backhandpass share the fourth line of betting with Arvis slotting in next.

CrossCourt comes in on the sixth line of betting followed by Charles and then the young debutant The Lost Scot.
Wolmas and Adrian have been inserted in at ninth and tenth respectively on the betting line to win the inaugural Yoda Guru title and the position of rank outsider goes to Sophie who sits in the eleventh and final spot in the pecking order of betting, according to the bookmakers.

All odds will be revised, updated and released again at the completion of Week 1 of the tournament, updated odds will then remain in place until the end of the tournament, bets can be made and will be taken right up to the start of the first Quarterfinal match, good luck everybody and remember to invest wisely! ;)

Note: All Yoda Crew members have a maximum of $100 to invest on the player or players of their choice!
The person with the best return on investment at the end of the Australian Open tournament will be awarded the title of “Yoda Vegas”!!

The Opening Odds for the respective competitions are as follows :

HSBA Release Odds For Vader Trophy "2012"!

Han Solo Betting Agency have released their opening set of odds for 2012 with the race for The Vader Trophy beginning in earnest at tournaments in Brisbane, Chennai and Doha respectively.

Defending champion Tono has been installed as the slight favourite in 2012 just ahead of the impressive FTT performer Wolmas, "Tono lead from start to finish in the shortened version of the competition last season so he deserves to be the favourite in 2012 in our eyes" said head "Bookie" Chew Bucka.
Mr Bucka did state that "Wolmas' impressive run in last years competition gained our respect and this has been reflected in him being installed as a close 2nd favourite".

Although nothing has been heard since November "2011" from the Oklahoma resident Don, he is on the third line of betting and will be a definite chance, he started slowly last season but once he got some momentum going he proved that he will be in contention in 2012.
The ultra consistent Aiur, who is at very tempting odds, ranks as 4th favourite on the betting line, Aiur did hold down second spot last year for long periods of time so he can certainly not be discounted from the equation, a good start should see him in the mix again in 2012.

The Serbian native Dragan slips into contention at good odds in 2012, he joined the inaugural Vader League late in the piece last year so it was hard to gauge exactly what odds he would be given by the HSBA, Mr Bucka a.k.a Chewie stated that "Dragan has caused our biggest headache in setting the odds for this season, because he only participated briefly in 2011 it made our job more difficult, he looks like being very good value indeed on the 5th line of betting".

The young Australian Crosscourt is also at mouth-watering odds, affectionately known as CC, he made great strides last year in all competitions culminating in him winning the inaugural R2D2 Crown, Chewie stated that "Dragan and CrossCourt are, we believe, the two competitors in Vader that could hurt us the most, we have risked putting them on the 5th and 6th line of betting respectively and a big early betting plunge, if successful, will really hurt the bank account".

Coming in on the 7th line of betting is the popular but inconsistent Arvis, he is always willing to go outside the square for some of his picks and when they come off they pay big dividends for him, unfortunately when they backfire they also hurt his cause, early season rumour's are swirling that Arvis might also be suffering from computer problems, if he happens to miss pick deadlines early in the competition then he will be severely handicapped right from the start.

Backhandpass or BHP to his fellow competitiors comes in as the outsider of the field on the 8th line of betting according to the HSBA, the bookmakers took into account last years results but did acknowledge that they are expecting a much improved performance from the double-hander in 2012, Chewie stated that "Backhandpass had his computer issues last season and because he missed so many pick deadlines he never really showed us "Bookie's" what he is capable of, we only had last season to go by so he was rightly installed, we think, as the rank outsider of the field".
"Although we have him installed at the longest odds, I do have a sneaky feeling that Backhandpass will be passing the dreaded "Wooden Spoon" to a new recipient at the end of The Vader Trophy season in 2012" said Chew Bucka!

It all makes for a very exciting and tense competition as the Vader League 2012 season gets underway, there will be many twists and turns throughout the long season I'm sure, who will be crowned the inaugural "LORD' of The Vader League in November....don't change the channel and stay tuned to GSFT and find out! :D

HAN SOLO BETTING AGENCY - Vader Trophy 2012 Opening Odds

TONO - $4.00
WOLMAS - $5.00
DON - $7.00
AIUR - $9.00
DRAGAN - $10.00
CROSSCOURT - $12.00
ARVIS - $15.00
BACKHANDPASS - $20.00

Note: Odds are subject to change and will be updated at the end of each calendar month by the HSBA!

I'm thinking Federer will no longer be playing there, too many withdrawals in recent years I suppose.

[Edit] I forgot about Federer's contract when I wrote the post. I'm thinking we won't get Nadal-Federer for each of those three years, twice would be nice for them, though.

A lot will depend on who will win the tournament I feel...if it's Rafa or Fed then I fancy Backhandpass will grab the victory.. but if it's Nole then it looks like a shoot-out between Don and Guga....the Isner v Troicki match could be the key match between these guys...a lot of great match ups still to come in this tourney :) Fed v Tsonga, Djokovic v Delpo/Cilic, Isner v Troicki, Gasquet v Almagro etc etc

At least if Rafa makes the final then there is no chance of me holding the "Wooden Spoon" ;) we can't have the YODA CUP CHAMP with any "wood" in his mouth now can we. ;)

It's quarterfinals time in the Davis Cup! :)
It's looking like a Serbia v Argentina semifinal on one side of the draw and the other well..... wide open I think!
USA or Spain?? Team USA have picked a fast indoor court to negate the Spanish Armada and Spain don't have Rafa at their disposal either, chuck in the Bryan brothers and the fact it's beng played in Andy Roddick's home town I think that will be enough to get the USA lads home.
Germany v France...whew, this could easily be a semifinal, if it was being played in France then the Frenchmen would win easily I think but it's in Stuttgart and the Germans will rise to the ocassion for this one I think.
Too close to call but maybe France to sneak it 3-2 winning the deciding rubber.
Florian Mayer currently leads Richard Gasquet by two sets to love so thats a promising start for Germany in the 1st rubber!
